Southern Approach Knee Replacement
Has anyone had a knee replacement using the "Southern Approach"? I just heard about this after cancelling my traditional knee replacement. It is supposed to be much less invasive and I heard through a friend of an acquaintance who had it and is extremely pleased. I would like to hear of other experiences.

I copied the following from Google;
Reviews for the "Southern Approach" knee replacement surgery are generally positive, with patients reporting a faster recovery time, less pain, and a greater range of motion compared to traditional knee replacements, often allowing them to walk fully weight-bearing within hours of surgery and return to active lifestyles quickly; however, it's important to consult with a qualified orthopedic surgeon to determine if this approach is suitable for your specific needs.

I suggest caution because this could be typical hype. Do you homework, and remember doctors push the method they are trained to do. Good luck!
I agree with you, it is very hard to decipher what is real and what is hype. I do only know of one person that has had this done and she is extremely pleased but I have learned you cannot compare with other people, it all depends on what you are having done. For instance, some people don't need knee cap resurfacing, but most probably don't even know if that was done or not. Everything about this is very confusing
I know, those were my thoughts too. I will continue to post if I decide to go that route of know of anyone who does.
