Anyone have trouble with bubbles on Forteo pen needle?
I just started Forteo a week ago. Before that I was on Tymlos. I follow the Forteo directions on how to inject the medication, but after I am done injecting, there are 2 or 3 bubbles on the needle. I called Eli Lilly, but they just said bubbles are okay. My concern is I am not getting all the medicine. Forteo instructions do not include wasting a dose at first and flicking away the bubbles like Tymlos does. There are only 28 Forteo doses for 28 days. Does anyone have a suggestion?

How long do you stay on Forteo, and what to you take after you’ve completed the series? Do you see positive results after a bone scan? Do you go to a clinic for the infusion or inject yourself. I’m a newbie, so thanks for your help and support.
@judy58, You can take Forteo for two years or they have recently approved it for more. However, it is my understanding that it may not cause improvement after 18 months, just keep levels stable. You should take Reclast or another bisphophonate afterwards to hold in gains. Most people see positive results on their DEXA and REMS scans. Forteo and Tymlos are self injected, while Reclast is an infusion.
