A suggestion for you - look into PICS. Post Intensive Care Syndrome. What I have heard/read is that anytime you are in IC or under anethesia you may experiece "brain" fog/problems etc. This can happen whether your anethesia or IC time is long or short. This is one of those interesting things you learn after surgery. Good luck and God bless.

This is the most informative and concise information I have seen. I never knew about PICS-F. Yes, I have this. My husband was in ICU for 2 month and now a year later he still has symptoms. I was with him during this time and see myself with symptoms. Thank you!

This is the most informative and concise information I have seen. I never knew about PICS-F. Yes, I have this. My husband was in ICU for 2 month and now a year later he still has symptoms. I was with him during this time and see myself with symptoms. Thank you!

I'm glad the information has been helpful to you. Sorry for what you and your husband have been dealing with and hope that you both can finally be completely symptom free sooner rather than later. Do your doctors have you on some type of treatment regiment? Are they addressing your symptoms? And, if they are, are you seeing any improvement at all?

I'm glad the information has been helpful to you. Sorry for what you and your husband have been dealing with and hope that you both can finally be completely symptom free sooner rather than later. Thank you for asking. The doctors have addressed some of the symptoms but just having knowledge makes our new normal more understandable.

Great. Like I said before, I hope you and your husband can get relief from all of the remaining symptoms soon. And you're so right...having that knowledge makes things more understandable and that, in turn, gives you power to advocate for yourself and your husband. All the best to you both!
