What to expect next?

Posted by pattyp46 @pattyp46, Dec 9 12:16pm

I just finished 28 treatments of radiation therapy and have been on Orgovyx for 4 months. My psa will be tested next week by my urologist. Had an 8 Gleason score (4+4)and psa was 17 but PET scan showed no metastatic growth beyond the prostate. My psa had hovered between 3 and 5.5 for well over 10 years until last spring.
What should I expect?

I don’t believe there’s a peer review that’s been done but I believe that cuz of this work, a study in 2023 was done that showed glucosamine might help lung cancer but hurt prostate (and other) cancers. I’m not a doctor…. just did some YouTube searches.

That video is nice, but basically he’s describing the Atkins diet. Not such a bad thing in the short term but it has its own problems as we all know.
I believe that an excess of processed sugar is bad all around, but a small amount is not going to have a clinically significant impact on cancer one way or another.
My best friend’s son died at age 34 from glioblastoma. Oh, that’s a really bad
one! Most would say….He went completely sugar free - completely -as in fresh fruits, some veggies, ALL processed sugar, honey, etc.
His tumor kept coming back no matter the surgery (5), chemo or radiation (3). Finally they used CAR-T cell therapy and the cancer went ballistic - to the liver, lungs and spleen.
That video, while informative, is an oversimplification of cancer. No, it is NOT genetic, but please see my previous post about the 4 things necessary for oncogenesis. Genes play a part but not in causation; most probably in non-suppression or non-initiation. Does diet play a part - absolutely, as evidenced by the growing numbers of cancers among younger people.
Their diets are mostly horrible consisting of a lot of processed sugars, little fiber and tons of additives, which do God knows what.

Thanks for your reply! I think there are several other videos that this man has put out. I’m not sure how valid any of this is. In the other videos, I’ve watched. He suggests that the glucosamine intake with blood sugar content is the key to reducing the “food“ for cancer cells —-as I understood it. The keto diet is only part of the process. Glucosamine intake and how often and when it is done, apparently is an important factor. As I said, I’m not a doctor, but his proposals seem intriguing. In his other videos, he suggests that the keto/glucosamine management can increase the effectiveness of anti-cancer treatments.
If his studies are correct, that you can starve or weaken cancer cells, it may increase the validity of the approach.

Just to be clear, are we talking GLUTAMINE OR GLUCOSAMINE?
Most doctors treat joint issues with the latter.

It is Glutamine or glutamic acid - another supplement widely sold in drug and health food stores!😂

Yes, sorry. Basic building block of DNA, right?

Well, i've been through 28 treaments, been off orgovyx for about 4 or 5 months now. My last psa was 0.17, that has been a few months ago. I don't know how else to say this, but, a few months after you stop the hormone, things start to grow back to normal and start to function again. This is just me, you can here all kinds of stories from others, good luck to you!

Yeah, a basic building block of DNA, which the DR in the video claims to cause cancer. Like saying breathing causes lung cancer😳

I don’t think he says that. I heard him say that it feeds cancer along with high blood sugar.
