So I have first-hand knowledge of this. Because of my spinal injury and surgery (with many post-surgical complications), my doctors were struggling, trying all kinds of different pain-management options when I was in hospital. One of them was a CBD.

The good news is that it didn't conflict with my cancer meds (Apalutamide and Degarelix at the time) and had no unpleasant side-effects.

The bad news is that it did absolutely nothing for my pain, and didn't even help my appetite come back (you'd figure a CBD would at least give me the munchies 😉).
