Pain in thigh 5 months after THR

I had a THR on both of my hips. No pain in left hip until right hip was fixed. Taking Ibuprofen for pain daily irritated my kidneys, so I can only take Tylenol as the pain is now in my back and neck.

I'm sorry to hear you are in pain, but I do have a suggestion. I too had this issue after my second hip replacement, and the doctor sent me back to Physical Therapy - but to a Rehabilitation Therapist. They were able to determine that I was walking improperly after limping on 2 bad hips for years.
Here is what happened - they sent me to get a new pair of supportive shoes that did NOT have my old wear patterns, so I was starting from neutral. Then they evaluated my walking, posture, stair climbing, etc from several angles and determined that I needed "gait training" - to make a conscious effort to walk straight and tall, keep my feet properly aligned and not lean. I practiced this in front of a mirror at PT and at home. They evaluated my strength and gave me exercises to strengthen core, thighs, legs, neck and back, then gave me specific exercises to correct weakness and imbalance. I still do some of these 12 years later.
Do you think you can get a referral for PT?
