Interesting Table of Numbers Post Proton Beam Treatment
Unlike surgery with well defined parameters for BCR, radiation seems to have quite a bit of variability. The photo is from Ron Nelson's book, 10 Years After Proton Therapy for Prostate Cancer. I bought it on Amazon. It was quite surprising to me that it took so long to get to the nadir. I actually haven't read the book yet, just skimmed it.

Boy, that’s a strange progression -even for PSA. Numbers actually hit a high 5 yrs out before going down.
Perhaps its something unique to proton therapy?
Yes, that struck me as very odd too. Most of the literature says it takes up to 3 years to nadir after proton beam treatment.
Personally I would have been super stressed out with PSA of between 2 and three in consecutive readings 5 years out from finishing radiation.
It makes me think that in theory, this may be more prevalent than you would expect and perhaps not rushing into further treatment might be prudent in some cases.
