New to group and just got my cac score

You don't say you have an arrythmia, so there's something positive. Your scores are high, but they don't necessarily mean that you also have high deposition of plaque. But I would want to know more, obviously, and yes, a cardiologist might be a good step in the right direction, especially if he/she can order an angiogram or an MRI, or a Doppler ultrasound to see what kinds of narrowing/deposition is extant. There is also a stress test with CT/contrast called a MIBI. I have had two. I would suggest you avoid them because of the high amounts of radiation involved. You don't want to know what the handout the cardiologist gave me said about how much. Trust me. Put it this way, I had to sign a waiver.

A dietitian/nutritionist might might not be a bad bet either. Maybe you should honestly review your dietary habits, including drinks of any kind, especially if you have them most days, and adjust where necessary.

Thanks for info. I basically only drink water tea and milk... no alcohol for 6 years since I have been battling liver cancer and winning right now! Just as things getting better on that aspect, I now have heart concerns. I have alot to learn and comprehend. Just scared till I know more.
