@seapen

Thank you for your encouragement. I have just been diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease which is related to diabetes. And now osteoporosis in my hip. I have been vety healthy all my life until now. This is very depressing...oh yes, I also have depression. Ugh!

@seapen, sorry to hear of your recent diagnoses. The disciplines you've developed for yourself will be helpful in managing and slowing the progression of these conditions, along with whatever treatments your doctors prescribe for you. I remember when I was diagnosed with stage 3 ckd and, yes, the news was depressing for me, as well. But I can tell you that by following the things I mentioned above and trying to keep a positive attitude will go a long way in helping you to live as normal a life as possible. I lived a full and normal life for years with kidney disease, enjoying all of the things I had always enjoyed. i know it is probably a little tougher for you since you had been healthy all your life and this is all so new to you. But be encouraged...keep your head up...and like I said before...stay the course. I believe you'll do very well because you have paid attention to your health and have kept yourself in good shape. That goes a long way in successfully dealing with your health issues. All of your friends here on Connect support you and are wishing you the very best. If you have questions or need encouragement or just need to lean on someone, just reach out to any of us here on this thread. We've all gone through or are going through what you're going through right now...and we're all here for you. Meanwhile, continue to take good care of yourself!
