I was taking Letrozole for recurrent Ovarian cancer that happened 18 years after my surgery. I was having significant side effects from the Letrozole, however my tumor marker, Inhibit B had dropped significantly while I was taking it. My Oncologist now has me on the Anastrozole and the side effects seem to be much less. I'm hoping to get a good report when they do my next blood work up. Best wishes to your wife and really hoping that the Anastrozole will work for her.
I've heard that discoloration is one of the side fx. I'm sorry that the Letrozole hadn't had the desired effect. My oncologist thinks it won't do much for me either. I've also read that it is effective for 9% of the patients who take it:( My onc. decided that I try it out and then revisit the situation once I've finished my prescription.
I'm not that hopeful.
