Accepted for by Neurology at Mayo Clinic. How to be seen sooner?

I was accepted and waitlisted at Mayo neurology. It was told that it would be a 6 to 9 month wait. Is there anyway to expedite the wait time? Is it worth applying to other specialties while waiting to be seen by neurology?
I also have lupus and have been denied by rheumatology twice. I am hopeful to get accepted with them, but wondering what the qualifications are to accept by rheumatology.
Please let me know if you have any insight into this matter?

Welcome, @casidyjogier. I'm glad that you were able to get an appointment with neurology. There is currently high demand for appointments. Which Mayo Clinic will you be going to?
