Any experience nighttime or at rest numbess in all knee working down?
New here, hi, at week 6 TKR,67 yrs old, hiker, biker, after a nice 1/2 m walk which u should be able to do at week 6, i have rest n sleep based numbness in all of knee n feeling goes downward to ankle. I can feel my skin but numblike inside where im unstable to “ like get to bathroom” as day progresses, am better but quad weakness noted be4 surgery due to procrastination n wait time to surgery.
Anyone experience this, feels weird n unsettling. PT got me walking better n working on limiting buckling n falling. Appreciate info, only take celebrex, occasional hydrocodone as sleep very limited due to throbbing pain more at night. Cheers all.

Yes I experienced similar to this after my knee replacement. My surgeon had discussed this as a possibility so I was prepared for it. He also told me that some amount of numbness might not go away. Honestly I don't remember how long it persisted, but after a good while most of it went away, except for a pretty small area on the outside of the knee. Hang in there!
Thank you, i was hopeful but now at wk 11 numbness is worse n jarring pain off n on at night has been increasing for over 3 wks. Regular walking is now a 3-4 pain level at all times. Bucking has subsided but cant do one step or raise my leg. After a week, still waiting for doctor to call. Maybe time for a new one.
My doctor said this is normal. Those “jarring pains”, he calls them zingers, are also normal because some nerves can be cut during the incision. So they are nerves sending messages that don’t get through. I had those for a while. I am just over 6 months out and the numbness is almost gone and I haven’t had the zingers for quite a while.
I hope I explained this correctly and I wish you the same fabulous recovery I’ve had.
