Muscle "pulls" due to statin?

I failed every statin I tried - with the severe stabbing pain you describe plus muscle spasms. My PCP really wanted me to take something, and referred me to a cardiologist, recommended Repatha and got me an exception with my insurance company.

This turned out to be a good thing, because a few weeks later I was diagnosed with a previously unknown heart blockage! Now I take Repatha and 2 other meds to keep it from getting worse, and will hopefully avoid stents or other surgical intervention.

Might you be interested in asking your doc about it?

I cannot take Repatha because I am allergic to Latex (Hypersensitive stage 4) and it can give me awful side effects. I am going to try Pitavastatin again because I am not sure if my stabbing pain in my leg was because of driving for 10 hrs at the same time I was taking the statin or if it was the statin. So now that I won’t travel that long distance, maybe I should try it again to see if I get those side effects or not. Medicines always give problems to patients. The pharmaceutical companies keep manufacturing drugs of any kind and their side effects make the patient get more meds to alleviate those side effects. It is a Gold Mine for these companies!
