Anyone else suffering arthritis in their feet? OUCH!
I suffer from arthritis in my feet along with Pes Cavus (really high arches considered a deformity). I have gotten BMAC stem cell therapy which only lasted a few weeks. Steroid shots. Physical therapy. And acupuncture and several rounds of an herb concoction that mixes with water. Additionally I apply ice packs and occasionally heat packs. All give temporary relief. I cannot take Celebrex, Advil or Aleve. I do not have rheumatoid arthritis. Any long term solutions?

I might try that brand of tart cherry capsules. I take cherry caps as well because my uric acid levels are elevated. Gout. My father had gout as well. Unfortunately, he died at a younger age, so I don’t know how his life would have continued on. I knew he had arthritis otherwise as well. I used to think that maybe it was because he was in the meat coolers as a butcher, full-time for part of his life but part-time the rest of the life he had until he died at 42. So if the cherry capsules don’t bring it down much more, I might have to be treated for it. I’m happy that the cherry capsules have at least brought it down.
I wish you well and if I have to get treated for it, I will make sure I circle back and let everybody know
Ty Dishpan, I appreciate your comment I'm very nervous having the operation but it will be worth it if I get a good results 😉. How was the insertion on the throat and is the pain after surgery really bad 😔 I read that some patients have a horse voice but how long for healing post surgery.
that would be great to hear back from you! My uric acid is above normal but not out of range with the tart cherry capsules! It did bring it down along with cutting out the purines. I wonder if I would get to "normal" with the allopurinol or other med. So I inquired of my doctor just this morning. I ALSO found out there is a connection to Interstitial Cystitis (IC) which I've had for about a year and getting treated for. I'm really curious about THAT link. You bet I will report back if I find out anything! It IS hereditary. Your pop probably didn't know or think about it. Being a butcher probably didn't help. Good luck dishpain! Lori
Someone may have mentioned this already (even me....) - Voltaren Gel works really well on arthritis in the hands and feet. It's available OTC and I use it for my arthritic shoulder, and sometimes for my hands.
Voltaren is also available in pill form with an Rx. I find it works a lot better than Celebrex.
Thanks so much for your detailed post which included names of products. I have heel spurs arthritis tendonosis and bursitis all in one foot so standing often is quite painful
Heel spurs are tough. I had them and they were very painful first thing in the morning.
A good way to stretch the plantar fasciitis on the bottom of the foot is by massaging the arch. This loosens the plantar fasciitis and eventually should give some relief from heel spurs. I have found the best way is to use a golf ball and roll it under my foot everyday. You can also stretch the plantar fasciitis. Here are some ideas:

But it sounds like Voltaren Gel could help. All the best to you! Joe
Thank so much for more helpful advice. Glad u said that about arch massage. I go to PT and they do massage the arch which does give some relief. I need to learn to do it for myself as well
. Thanks again
Yes it's very painful . I take ibuprofen 800 prescription and it works well.
I wear shoes for high arch and inserts really help
I found PT to be helpful with the arthritis in my feet (and hands), in conjunction with things like voltaren gel. Both the hands-on work and exercises can help mobilize the different bones and soft tissues of the feet. I know I stopped using my feet (and hands) as much when the pain started up, but mobilizing them helped them to work better and slow worsening.
