Reclast prep - water, electrolytes, Tylenol ...?
Hello everyone! I am scheduled for Reclast Nov 20. Scared to death! I've been reading and reading ... Water? Just how much? Double, triple what I usually drink - which isn't a lot but I do try. Electrolytes? My Dr casually mentioned Gatorade. My thoughts are that there might be better options that that. I do have electrolyte supplements I can add to water. But I've read to very careful with those. Also Tylenol, starting when? Claritin? I'd love to read your experiences and what worked for you.

You may not have side effects so don't worry too much. I just had my second infusion this week which is 6 months after my first. I am doing fine. Just remember to drink lots of water. It plumps up you veins so the procedure goes smoothly. Relax and take a book.
Thank you. You have 2 infusions per year?
Yes, I will hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!
I had my first Reclast infusion on November 21, three weeks after my 10th and last Evenity injections (ended treatment early due to insurance change). I had a 2 mg dose with intravenous hydration, and, other than an ache in my lower back for two days, I've been absolutely fine. Thank you to everyone here who shared their experiences which were helpful when deciding what treatment to do as a follow-up to Evenity, and how to do it.
My doctor wanted me to have the second because my CTX number was high. Doesn’t happen to everyone.
@hopeful librarian will you have 2mg for the year or have two infusions of 2mg in one year?
My plan is to transition to alendronate when the efficacy of my Reclast infusion drops. I'll have my BTMs tested in about 6 months to see where they're at, and go from there. I'm hoping I won't have to do it again, but if the alendronate doesn't work, I'll consider it.
