Side effects of Letrozole: Weird muscle reaction
Has anyone out had weird muscle reactions while on Letrozole. Ab area muscles in particular. I’ve had a CT of pelvic & Abdomen and they found nothing unusual.

I had a second follow up with my surgeon. All was stable, mammo and MRI. I told her about all the physical symptoms and now blood work changing rapidly.
Told her my oncologist said chance of reoccurrence is 50/50, she explained that is the general population my age, my diagnosis etc. She said she would help find out more information. She called me later that day and said she presented my case to oncologists she works with at her hospital and they all thought my case would have a low % rate of reoccurrence.
With all factors considered, I stopped the Letrozole.
My oncologist probably won't be happy but I feel ok with this decision.
Me too. Awful
My doctor figured out my chance was 14% stats are just stats. They told me my recurrence of vaginal cuff cancer was 1% it means nothing if you’re the one who gets it? There are so many people of this site with recurrence.
Although it has nothing to do with taking Letrozole, I had double vision and adding a prism to my prescription eliminated the problem. Just a shot in the barrel of false hope.
Thanks Elisabeth but I don't have double vision.
After three visits back to my oncologist, I too stopped the Letrozole - on his watch until mid January and we'll reevaluate. My symptoms are debilitating - my hands are worthless, my whole body just hurts. Bones, muscles etc. I have no options for pain relief since I'm also on a blood thinner....
How long after stopping did you notice any improvement in how you feel? I'm very worried about the neuropathy in my hands being irreversible.
Hope you are improving.
I've only just stopped this past weekend. But prior to Letrozole I was on Anastrozole for about six months. I got off that and took a break of four weeks or so. It was about that last week my knees felt better and I could focus enough to read again. Read four books until the Letrozole kicked in.
So give it 4-5 weeks then document symptoms before you try the next AI.
I hope it goes better with the next one!
Happy Thanksgiving!
