'Tis the season

Here's to everyone with tests scheduled over the next month (mine are this Friday). I hope for only the good kind of surprises for us all between U.S. Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. And whatever happens, may we all feel surrounded by love and caring, both at home and here online. ♥️

Thankyou, Sir. Enjoy a white Christmas while I spend Christmas at the beach.
Hope everything goes well for you.
All I want for Christmas is an undetectable PSA & dry pants.

I wonder if they'll play Christmas music during my PSMA

Well, you have to sit around for an hour while the injection courses through your veins.
I'm sure they'll have Santa Baby on loop.

Thanks. Had my first post-Orgovyx testosterone test and PSA test yesterday but my doctor is out of the office for a full week. The results showed up on the portal but I have no idea if they're good, bad or just too soon to tell. Maybe someone here has an inkling? I finished radiation six months ago (primary treatment, not salvage) and finished Orgovyx on October 31.

Pre-Treatment
Testosterone: 620
PSA: 7.2

Last test before stopping Orgovyx:
Testosterone: 0
PSA: Undetectable

Results from yesterday's test almost one month post Orgovyx:
Testosterone: 192
PSA: 0.32

Am thinking testosterone return is pretty good for a month but no idea how to interpret a post-radiation PSA.

"I'm sure they'll have Santa Baby on loop."

Now that would be more terrifying than any test.

Since you're just off ADT, I think that first test is simply your new baseline. Whether (and how much) the next couple of tests differ will tell you more. But take the usual caveat that I'm not a physician, etc. etc.

I still get tested monthly. I can't help paying attention to my psa number. Back in June it was < .02 but has been creeping and last number was .06. I started treatment at 932 so of course I'm happy but still. Doc says we are keeping an eye on it. I'm getting scheduled for I believe is genetic testing. I have 6 month scan in January. I'm planning to retire at the end of the year and I really believe I will feel a lot better. I think I will be better able to deal with the side effects of meds. I wish the best for all for the holiday season.

Congratulations on the upcoming retirement. I'm counting the days myself.

Funny, my plans for retirement never included full-time fighting prostate cancer.

Scott, you are just shy of 2 mos out from ADT so 192 sounds pretty darn good to me. I think your T will continue to increase as the months go on, but I’ve read that Orgovyx’s effects are pretty much gone after 6 mos while lupron and others can take a year or more. So I think you’re in a good place right now.

Prostate Baby, just book me in for SBRT,
You see,
I've been in treatment all year,
Prostate Baby, just hurry up and make me alright

Prostate Baby, a linear accelerator too
Light blue
I got my butt full of gel
Prostate baby, just hurry up and get out of sight

I’ve been scanned and MRI'd
The doctor says “you've got to try"
I really do want to see the day
When my PSA is low to stay

Prostate Baby, it's time for some more ADT,
You see,
My T's on hold for a while,
Prostate Baby, the future’s looking brighter this year.
