Has anyone tried treatment for diabetic neuropathy?
My dad (age 60) was recently diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy and I have been researching all about it this past week. I know there is no cure but I have run into multiple treatment centers that claim they can help alleviate the pain. My dad lost so much weight recently, I could barely recognize him and it scared me half to death, and he can't sleep through the night because of the pain. Has anyone tried Loma Linda's INF treatment or HFX spinal cord stimulation? The meds given by his doctor don't seem to help much so I am also going to try to give him some medicinal edibles to sleep through the night.
Thank you to anyone who can give me some insight.

Have you tried Nerve Control 911? I take 2 capsules every day and have no diabetic peripheral neuropathy pain in my feet for 3 years. Have also taken Pregabalin with no results.
Hi,
I have had this for 25 years.
I have tried everything.
Keeping sugar low and keeping hydrated is key. Get him Neuropathy compression socks on Amazon. I love them. You can buy one that you can freeze for relief. Our wet and freeze white socks. Avoid alcohol.
If Dad looks bad and lost weight his DM might be out of control.
Does he have an endocrinologist? Very important.
I take Tramodol and Gabapentin. But there are fall risks with them. I don’t take them till I’m in bed.
Good luck. Keep in touch
There are many reasons a person may lose weight, but diabetic-associated pancreatic exocrine insufficiency is one of them. If the cause of the weight loss has not yet been identified, he should certainly have a fecal elastase 1 test; if he has exocrine pancreatic insufficiency it is treatable with prescription enzymes.
I got neuropathy in my hands and feet after chemo treatment and now I am a type 1 diabetic after a total pancreatectomy since June so concerned it will get worse. Since I am still on a feeding tube controlling my blood sugars has been difficult with some really highs but I think with my new doctor things are improving there so hopefully that will help. I am trying acupuncture to see if that "wakes" things up and gets them going again. So far after 4 or 5 treatments I haven't had much improvement. I also take medical cannabis at nights (gummies with THC/CBN) for sleeping and that does seem to help.
I'm 69 years old, been diabetic for more that 25 years. The last 2 or 3 years, I've had a lot of diabetic neuropathy. I get a lot of relief from Gabapentin 300 mg three times a day.
Wow, 300 mg, I am 64 years old and have just been diagnosed like your self and am taking 1200 mg 3 times daily the max dose which I feel is too much what’s your views on this?
Try Gabapentin, I am on the max dose and have never had the pain only numbness and I feel that this med had helped a lot to quell this, also diabetic socks and my shoes are hoka bondi recommended by my podiatrist, excellent choice which helps a lot when walking, hope this helps 😊
Just wondering if you have ever travelled to Europe with these gummies for pain? I also use a gummy for my severe PN and when I travel to Europe in Jonauary, I see that it may not be legal in Austria. I really depend on my at night. The pain in my feet worsens from supper time to bedtime, to an intolerable level.
Has anyone on this site ever tried to bring their gummies (CBD/THC) to Europe? I use a gummy at bedtime because of the severe pain in my feet. It starts at to ramp up at supper time and the pain is intolerable until I take my gummy. I am also on lyrica and gabapentin. I am travelling to Europe soon, and it looks like gummies are not allowed in certain countries. What do you those of you who use gummies for pain/sleep do when you travel? Thank you for any insights.
