I have had two vertebral lumbar compression fractures in the last
months. No fall or injuries, just broke. I just started on ibandonate with endo. Both my PCP and surgeon feel I should start on something strong. Fortes? Prolia? I am 68 and was very active….. now I am afraid of more FX, but afraid of side effects of these drugs too!! Any advice about the stronger ones?

Tymlos, Forteo and venity are teh strong ones. Ibandronate can interfere with effectiveness of the strong bone-builders, according to the book "Great Bones," Ben Leder's and other videos and my doctors.. My doc won't prescribe Prolia due to rebound when stopping,

If you have fractures, insurance will cover the stronger meds. I would ask the endo why they have prescribed a bisphosphonate. Or maybe one of the other doctors could prescribe.

Many seem to make large gains on Evenity. I did Tymlos first because I could start at a low dose (pen is adjustable) and move up. Many people take any or all of these meds w/few side effects though as you can see on this forum, some have troubling ones. I did Evenity after Tymlos then Reclast. For those of us with fractures, bisphosphonates tend to be prescribed after the other drugs to "lock in" gains.
