Forteo side effects of fatigue and mild confusion
I have been taking Forteo almost a month.
I have been extremely tired. Also have experienced some confusion. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same effects and if it went away after a time?

Yes. I didn't find them alarming at 145 but he did. He is not in favour of supplementation in general. I don't know what his reasons are but I trust him.
I have been told the upper limit is 80. I keep my level around 50.
This article says over 100 is high and over 150 is toxic. So you are close to toxicity.

Most of us need Vitamin D supplementation, especially in the age of sunscreen, and those of us in more northern areas definitely need D.
How did yours get so high? Sun plus supplement? How much per day were you taking in supplementation? Did the doctor say anything about how to get it down?
Besides excess supplementation the article lists these possible factors that make high D possible:
granulomatous disorders
congenital disorders
some lymphomas
dysregulated vitamin D metabolism
Doctor says No supplements, no fortified milk and foods, wear sunblock outside. We'll test Vit D levels again at the end of winter/early spring. Vit D can be elevated in summer time.
Vitamin D doesn't get that elevated in the summer, normally. If you haven't been taking excess supplementation (It would have to be a lot to get the level up that high) I hope your doctor looks into why your levels got so high.
My vitamin D level was at 90. My Endo told me to stop taking it for 4 months. I am not taking calcium now, only collegan. I am not certain if the dizziness & confusion I have is from the medication or high or low calcium levels (?) I am going to ask for blood testing today.
I am curious about women who have discontinued Forteo because of side effects!
I am wondering if about women who have discontinued Forteo because of the side effects?
I am so happy to have been offered this drug that I am going to stick out any side effects. They all seem to be passing now. I'm not a huge fan of injecting myself but it's only for 24 months. I'll be so delighted if my bone density goes up
My endocrinologist said Vitamin D could raise your calcium level, which for me has been a problem on Forteo.
I have had two vertebral lumbar compression fractures in the last
months. No fall or injuries, just broke. I just started on ibandonate with endo. Both my PCP and surgeon feel I should start on something strong. Fortes? Prolia? I am 68 and was very active….. now I am afraid of more FX, but afraid of side effects of these drugs too!! Any advice about the stronger ones?
Tymlos, Forteo and venity are teh strong ones. Ibandronate can interfere with effectiveness of the strong bone-builders, according to the book "Great Bones," Ben Leder's and other videos and my doctors.. My doc won't prescribe Prolia due to rebound when stopping,
If you have fractures, insurance will cover the stronger meds. I would ask the endo why they have prescribed a bisphosphonate. Or maybe one of the other doctors could prescribe.
Many seem to make large gains on Evenity. I did Tymlos first because I could start at a low dose (pen is adjustable) and move up. Many people take any or all of these meds w/few side effects though as you can see on this forum, some have troubling ones. I did Evenity after Tymlos then Reclast. For those of us with fractures, bisphosphonates tend to be prescribed after the other drugs to "lock in" gains.
