Sleep Music for Neuropathy

Posted by pah17 @pah17, Nov 26, 2024

As most of us know PN is a journey. Does anyone listen to a particular kind of music to help them settle and stay asleep at night?

I have a terrible time sleeping and staying asleep, but that seems to be mostly because my head plugs up when I lie down in bed. I am sleeping more and more in my recliner. And, yes, that is against my Doctors wishes.
Having said that...I do find the sound of rain on my TV to be soothing and relaxing. They have many to choose from on YouTube. They stay on for hours and many on a black screen.
I love all types of music but find that when I try to fall asleep to something, sooner or later there is a high note or something in the composition that is irritating to me and wakes me out of that half slumber.

I just found something on my Amazon Alexa that seems to help me get to sleep - I ask Alexa to play meditation verbally and this great voice comes on and has gotten me to sleep for 2 nights now, so will keep using it till it doesn't work.

For me needs no sound, no music or TV show… that’s the best for me, BUT my wife turns on TV place until turns off by 11:15 pm. I always laying down and my eyes are open. My wife goes to sleep round 10-10:30. She’s sleeping and I’m awake until 11:15 and make another 10-20 minutes going to sleep.

This is so interesting to me. I had intended to post the same question this past week.
I've been experimenting with singing bowls, classical and Native American flute. I find that sometime during the night, my tablet stops and/or I experience what you're describing... something is irritating or jarring.

I have found really good help from calm instrumental piano-only music on youtube. There is a lot of it available, different styles. Some of the sessions are 8 to 10 hours long, and some are short, so you can usually find whatever length of time you prefer.
