Looking for info and treatment for Mycobacterium abscessus

After 18 months on big 3 was pronounced clear of Mac but now have been diagnosed with mycobacterium abscessus. Consultant wants to admit me to hospital for intravenous treatment. I’m very anxious about this. Anyone been through this?

How many cultures have grown M Abscessus? Some years ago I had one culture comeback positive for it, but the next two came back clear.
Is the consultant a specialist in Mycobateria infections?
