I'm feeling well!

Hi guys. It's been awhile since I've updated you-all on how it's going. First I'm physically handling the treatments well. The worse side effect in my opinion is the lack of hair, but I don't even mind that too much. Actually I discovered wigs and I love them. They are like pets. I'm fussing with them all the time and it's fun. I have 5 now. They're all similar. I'm probably going to be a wig wearer forever even after my hair grows out. The nurse practitioner said I wouldn't lose my eyebrows and eyelashes, and she lied. I've been using eye shadow to fill my brows in, but today I realized I only have about 4 brow hairs and about the same for my lashes. But have no fear I have eyebrow tattoos and magnet eyelashes. That's me in all my stuff.

I feel so good I'm hosting Thanksgiving! I haven't been to a thanksgiving event for 4 years. 20/21 were pandemic years. 2022 I was recovering from a knee replacement and 2023 Foot surgery. Writing that just makes me feel bionic 😜
So I'm wishing you all the best and funnest Thanksgiving ever. 🦃

Just in case you all lost count Dec 9 is my last treatment!

In January I'll start a maintenance program for a year. But it won't have any of the side effects of the current treatment and I'm thankful that I have that option.

Feeling Grateful!

Thank you for the update! It’s good to hear you have worked through side effects and found solutions for life!
Thanksgiving rolled around when I had just finished radiation. I found a decorative plate with the words “Thankful” that I added to my decor that year. After Thanksgiving a few of my family seemed surprised that the plate became a permanent part of my home decor. But there it is. I am forever thankful for the doctors and nurses that helped me.

I appreciate what you share, Denise. It’s a reminder to me to stop and smell the roses.

@denisestlouie Thank you for sharing your Hope and your lovely plans for Thanksgiving. Your wig is beautiful. Since you love your wigs then sure, why not wear them frequently after your hair grows back?

Would you like to share your maintenance program? This is certainly something to look forward to.
