Anyone have a positive Cologuard test?

Posted by dazlin @dazlin, Nov 21, 2019

My test results came back positive. I asked what did it show, because they test for 11 different cancers or categories. They said, it just states either negative or positive for cancer. I had problems a few years back and did a colonoscopy, which came back ok. Now this!! I'm reading theres a 13 percent chance of false positive. Right now I'm extremely distraught about having to go through all Consults, tests, and dreaded preps. Orders are in for Consult with gastro, but they're booked out through January or February in Mayo. I have not received any notice for appointment yet. Dont know what to think or do.

I had an abnormal Cologuard test. Colonoscopy scheduled for Wednesday. Very concerned about the prep. I had RNY gastric bypass surgery 13 years ago. Spoke to my bariatric doctor and she said I should be getting a "mini prep". The prep the surgeon gave me asks for 12 dulcolax, Gatorade, etc. I avoid laxatives like the plague due to severe cramping from them. I called surgeon back and he never heard of a "mini prep" and gave me a different prep reducing Dulcolax to 4 tablets. I am so worried the cramping will cripple me. I also have GERD and take protonix for it. I always take meds with food so am afraid of gastric reflux not having any food. I am hoping for the best but does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with possible cramping and reflux?

Hi, I Tested positive 5 years ago on cologuard, did the colonoscopy and they found a couple noncancerous polyps and hemorrhoids, now I tested positive again and I have a colonoscopy scheduled for October. The prep is 4 dulcolax and 2 bottles of magnesium citrate.

Supposed to drink 32 ounces between 4 and 6, then starting at 4vam supposed to drink another 32 Oz 3 hours before getting to the hospital. Just remember....only 5% of Cologuard positive tests results in a cancer diagnosis. Be hopeful,!

I manged to finally finish everything... colonscopy was today and all went well. The cologuard turned out to be a false positive result, thank heavens.

I had a negative colonoscopy at 51 and told no further test required for 10 yrs. Just took Cologuard after 9 1/2 yrs and tested positive. I will be following up with colonoscopy. My question is - has anyone had mild symptoms of CRC (mild cramping, nausea at times in am, some change in bowel habits) that still turned out negative or benign polyps? Like others, I wish I had just done another colonoscopy so I didn’t have to spend so much time worrying.
