I love your interview! I can relate to almost all you said about Mayo Connect and the people we meet on here and how we help each other. I am glad your oncologist listens to you when you‘ve learned something to ask about. I have had good PCP’s like that too who are true partners with me in my care and welcome ideas as we’re working on the same goal.

I got a kick out of your singing. I had chemo-radiation for a very treatable & curable neck cancer, but the radiation took a toll on my vocal cords during the 8 weeks of treatment. But every day I left there, I would test them by singing with the radio on my way home. It took months afterward for the whispering and hoarse singing to evolve back to my full-voiced awful singing, but every time I’m in my car now (alone, that is) I belt it out and let the happiness in! Thanks for sharing😊

Thank you for your kind thoughts, Debbie. So glad to hear you had a cancer that was very treatable! I do love how everyone helps each other even though each has their own struggles. Some days I might be too tired to try and provide a response to someone’s questions, but other days that I feel less tired I’m online and trying to help others. The help I received sometimes was almost better than the oncologists! So fun to sing the car - it’s great therapy.
