I am currently reading this, and while some new discoveries have happened since it was written, it has been powerful for me. She did the impossible in taking care of her husband when facilities were only drugging him and not giving the care he needed or times when he was dismissed from facilities. It especially highlighted facilities that do not allow families to have 24/7 access and why they have these policies. It has given me an informed determination to keep going here at home, putting together a care team, and giving all that I can give- even when it seems impossible. This was a book that was hard to put down. I have circled, underlined, and made comments on the pages. The author has put her journey in clear, painful words that actually made me feel a little less alone and much more informed and empowered in this unexplainable journey with Lewy Body Dementia.
