@sonodeka

I gave up my moderate road cycling practice when I was diagnosed with osteopenia to focus more on weight bearing exercise, including lots of hiking. 7 years later I've crossed into osteoporosis. The other day I rode a bit while on vacation and was shocked at how winded I was. I'm planning on including more cycling in my exercise mix to keep up on cardiovascular health. Cycling isn't great for bones but does a great job with that. Just got a great Black Friday deal on an indoor exercise bike.

@sonodeka Good for you! Yes, weights are important! I do them but not as much as I should. Cardio is important too. I do 30 minute cadio on You Tube. Another one I follow on You Tube is Fitness with PJ. She is in her 50's and her workouts are superb! She has weights, cardio, cardio kickboxing and more. I've been doing her stuff for about 3 years now. Experts say that leg strength is important too. Squats and Lunges - you can never go wrong with them.
