Mirvetuximab for ovarian cancer: Anyone used this drug yet?

Posted by califcheryl @califcheryl, Nov 9 1:14pm

has anyone done treatment for ovarian cancer with the IV infusion drug Mirvituxim. I'm starting next Wed. I've done 6 chemo treatment with platinum based carbonplaxin and had full hysterectomy surgery, but there was still many cancer cells left in my abdominal wall. The cancer became resistive to carboplaxin so they are going to try this new drug.

@califcheryl, I'm glad that mirvetuximab (Elahere) offers an option for you. It was only recently approved (March 2024) for people whose ovarian cancers are platinum-resistant.

How was the first treatment session? How many will you have?

I am eligible to use this in the future but am not currently platinum resistant.
I am interested to hear about your experience.

Just had first injection. Was a long one about 3 hrs. Eye lubricant definitely need as my eyes did feel very dry during night, but lubricant drops immediately helped. So far no other side effects.
