Yes to the pillow under the knee! Absolutely YES! Crazy as it sounds (because it is so simple) it is what relieves my hip pain and other neuropathy/radiculopathy. My GUESS (having had joint replacement and nerve pain problems) is that the nerves exiting the spine are getting triggered and it shows up along the hip joint, leg, and foot. I had hip replacement 2012 & 2014 and it fixed a ton but it was the lumbar work in 2019 that released the squashed nerves. It can take 10 years for the nerves to "wake up" and when they do watch out! Also, in my lumbar surgery they only did L3, 4, 5 and so the outside areas are now "collapsing." I intuitively think that those outside vertebrae, destabilized, are squashing the exiting nerves and I am going thru this all over again. So the pillow is mandatory to keep my spine aligned while I sleep. I am 67 now. I continue to see the orthopedic surgeon every six months. He can see with a simple xray how my spine is deteriorating. I use topicals if needed (diclofenec gel 3%, lidocaine gel 5% ) and a host of other things I rotate around. I wake with screaming pain in my shin in the middle of the night and rub it a little and reposition, and it goes away quickly. When I walk up hill, it aggravates. I think keeping your spine in tip top shape is most important. (pillates, or yoga). I take it all in stride at this point.

I’m basically in same boat but I have spondylitis also with severe scoliosis. I wake up crying. My quality of life is so bad. I can barely drag myself out of house I feel so miserable. Idk🤷‍♀️
