I am a 6 year veteran. first couple of years had 2 courses of prednisone. Each time I tapered down and got off I would have a flare and needed to get back on prednisone x 2. Then I said forget it. I have many annoying symptoms, my gait is way off due to weakness and I need a cane, exhaustion and exhaustion! But one of the more annoying symptoms is tingling and numbness in both my arms and hands. At about my bicep level I feel a tightness like a band around both my arms. From there on down I have numbness and tingling all the time. I have almost no feeling in the tips of my fingers. My arms and hands function but they are weak, like when your try to use your arms after they have fallen asleep. Nerve conduction test was negative, so no carpel tunnel. My rheumatologist said she has never had a PMR pt. with this condition. I didn't know what to say to that......well now you do!

I was told it was palendromic pmr. Can happen in the feet and/or hands. My hands hurt so bad I couldn't lift my coffee cup or even take the cap off the toothpaste. Better now after methotrexate, then Kevzara, both of which I have stopped. It did improve but wondering if it will return. I'd think about a new rheumatologist.
