Enhertu for Stage 4 Breast Cancer
Hello, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 triple positive breast cancer mets bones 10 years ago. After 6 months, I had no evidence of disease and have taken Herceptin and Perjeta every 3 weeks for the last 10 years and had no progression. My tumor marker started slowly going up for at least a year but that can happen for many reason. Unfortunately, my tumor marker quickly elevated so I had a PET/CT scan this week and the cancer is back in my bones. My oncologist is going to take me iff Herceptin and Perjeta and start me on Enhertu and no other treatment because he says it is shown to work well. Does anyone have experience with Enhertu? I’m concerned that I might need Taxotere or some other more lethal drug. Any thoughts or experiences? Thank you.

@kblioce it is encouraging that you were able to have no sign of disease and went 10 years after a diagnosis of stage 4. Treatment of HER2 has really come far.
I wonder if you have found the site breastcancer.org. There are some threads dedicated entirely to those with stage 5. Hoping someone comes in here with experience with Enhertu.
I had a nasty grade 3 mixed cancer w/lymphovascular invasion and ambiguous but ultimately just over the line for negative HER2. I am 10 years out so we must have had our different diagnoses at the same time. Wishing you luck with this new development. So sorry you are dealing with it. Keep us posted!
Thank you!! Good luck with yours and I will keep you posted.
All things breast at bc.og. Having breast cancer than two years later MDS and a bone marrow transplant let me know my mind will never forget. Cancer will be part of my life. I can though, live life.
My friend at MD Anderson is stage 4 and 4 years out. Being at a research hospital with good doctors is a blessing.
I had Her2+/ER+/PR-/Stage2/Brca2 with my breast cancer. TP53 mutation and another gene makes blood problems and MDS. Our journeys are unique, but we can support and share.

Hi @kblioce I am heartbroken to hear about your relapse. I am glad however that you have a good doctor using some of the newer treatments for her2, this drug is typically, but not always given for 14 treatments there are some folks talking about it on a few threads.
This is just one;

If you scroll up on your left there is a little heading that says breast cancer, if you click that it will take you to all the conversations, then you can search there for enhertu and a ton will come up.
This is a very frightening change in events for you, but a lot of us are LIVING with advanced cancer. How are you feeling now?
Thank you for the information. I am feeling good, thanks for asking. If I wasn’t told it was back, I wouldn’t even know it. I am keeping a positive attitude because I know God is with me through every step of the way.
Amazing to hear you went 10 years NED. Sorry to hear it’s back. I have ER/PR+ and HER2- but will be following your story and hoping this new treatment gives you another 10 years or more NED or at least stable and still enjoying life. The great success stories give us all hope. Blessings.
