I am almost 6 months. I still have tightness along with numbness. PA told me it can take 12 to 18 months to recover fully. I go to the gym 3x a week. Seems to be helping. What problems are you having?

Same problems. 18 months out right knee, 4-1/2 months left knee. Everyone is different. However, I exercise regularly, do home “stretches” now, etc.
No 2 knees are alike it seems, so many factors to consider as well. Patience & persistence are important.

Is it possible you’re overdoing or pushing too hard? I still do my ROM exercises daily, as well as a treadmill, bike, etc. I can feel it when I do too much, though I know it’s important to be active.
The fact that your knee keeps “giving out”, and is sore all the time, doesn’t seem WNL. Have you seen your surgeon for this? He should determine why this is happening. Hope your knee improves soon.

Patience and persistence are my new mantra…thanks for this! I am impatient with my own progress and realize I need to look further into the future:6 months to 1 year.
I’m 5 months out from left tkr. I’m in PT and making good progress except that I have significant pain in the hamstring and IT band.
I can deal with it most of the time with stretching and ibuprofen, but I have a lot of difficulty sleeping.

last 11 years i have had nothing but pain and problems. Dr says its phantom pain. Ha. So i used PRP for the other knee and have had good results. I know friends who have had good luck and bad luck. Prp is out of pocket but no operation . Some have no success. I like it because i can knell down when gardening etc. Good luck

I'm just 6 months out and have the same IT band pain on my outer knee (left). I started strengthening a month ago and found sitting leg presses relieved the pain. It works every time for me. Maybe you can try it. Let me know how you make out. Best of luck!

Yeah, my surgery was seven months ago and I’m having problems with my knee. It keeps giving out and it’s sore all the time Phil.

Without a lot of verbiage the simple answer is YES! You'll look back at this time and feel much better than now.
