Reclast infusion after a root canal.
I had two extractions months ago, and was ready to schedule my Reclast infusion soon. During a dental cleaning yesterday they found a tooth in front of the extracted tooth needed a root canal, and might have a fracture. The dentist said I can schedule the Reclast because the root canal is going to be an easy procedure, and he doesn't see any fractures. I've had Reclast infusions twice before, and this will be the last I think. Will this be safe? I don't know how they missed the problem with that tooth when they did x-rays for the teeth to be extracted.

Have you had a chance to discuss this dental procedure with your medical provider as well? You mentioned your dentist is not concerned, but is it possible to loop in your provider to confirm the risks?
Thanks for your response. I emailed the Oral Surgeon who pulled the two molars. During the procedure he seemed to be very knowledgeable about Reclast. He has not responded to my email. It was during a schedule tooth cleaning that the tech found the large cavity, and possible fractures of the molar in front of one of the extraction sites. I t hink they were pulled about four weeks ago. Since then I've had an appointment with the Endocrinologist who did bloodwork, and okayed the Reclast infusion be scheduled. I emailed the Endodontist who's to schedule the root canal. He said he looked at x-rays, and felt it would be an uncomplicated root canal. He made an appointment for the root canal December 5th. For several years I was a patient at the dental school faculty practice in Milwaukee, and had implants done with an excellent faculty member who's a periodontist.
I called the dental school, and they said they would schedule an appointment with the periodontist if I have my current dentist make the request I be seen. In my email I asked the Oral Surgeon to request a second opinion. He has not responded to my email. I know the molars that were pulled were large, and a real struggle to pull. The infusion clinic said, in light of the new issues, they won't schedule me until my dentist indicates it's okay. Why can't I get an answer, or a second opinion? The reclast infusions I've had before have been successful in growing bone. I hate to have to wait, and worried about possible problems. Darn it!
An update. The Infusion Center called me today to say they had talked to my Endocrinologist about rescheduling the Reclast because of the need for the root canal. He wants the infusion done three months after the root canal. That makes it easy.
