Evenity Can I get more side effects as I continue my treatment?
I just had my first two shots of Evenity last month (one in each arm) it went well no pain whatsoever. My question is, as I continue treatment, could I experience more side effects? Is it a cumulative effect? As I continue treatment would side effects happen as I get more shots and Evenity builds up in my body? Or, am I going to be okay and since I did well with my two shots? Just wanting feedback that everything should be A Okay? I am on this for one full year and want to stay as positive as possible. Thank you. Any comments or feedback would be great to hear.

For me, side effects improved. For my friend who had no side effects for months, she experienced some fatigue toward the end of the year but had dramatic gains. Many on this forum have posted with no side effects at all. So noone can predict but it sure is a good sign that you have done so well so far.
My friend and I noticed (mild) side effects around day 7 when the concentration might peak (online the drug insert says peak between days 2-7 and on average day 5). You can ask the doctor or pharmacist but I don't think the drug lingers in the body (half life is 12.8 days, according to the drug insert, so half the drug is gone then) but my doctor said it takes a month or two for Evenity to fully "mineralize" with each shot. Not sure what that means!
Fingers crossed, good chance you will be good!
What are the side effects of evenity?
@jjpoodlespress most people do not experience significant (bad) side effects from Evenity and I don't see any trend from following discussion groups that side effects build. For most of us Evenity is great. I completed a year with no side effects worth mentioning and got great results. The odds are that you will too.
My hives reactions started after shot 5, but I have been able to control it and stay on. Most of those were at about 12 days following the shots and after. I have just had #9. I had almost reaction besides a little bit of a sore arm before that. So, I tend to think it can be cumulative.
I would think the effects of sclerostin inhibition might be cumulative. Good for bone density though.
I have seen posts from a few members stating that they had to quite before completing the sequence due to adverse reactions building up.
@jjpoodlespress I think you will find that some of us experienced side effects and some did not. The only side effect I noticed was tenderness at the site of the injections. The tenderness disappeared within 24 hours.
I have completed the 12 months of Evenity and did not notice any other side effects during that time period. I see my endocrinologist in a few weeks so I shall learn what is planned next for me. I get my next bone density scan next week.
Dear Helen,
Thank you so much for your input.
Please keep me/us posted on your bone density scan if you feel comfortable.
Hoping for a great report after all of your hard work and follow through 🙂 jjpoodlespress
How long did your hives last? Hope you are doing okay? I would assume it could be cumulative. Thank you for your input? Where were your hives? Did they go away?
Thank you! May I ask what gains you got from Evenity and where? Spine I would assume? Are you following up with any treatment to "lock in" your results?
Sincerely JJPoodlesPress
