I have this, too. I had surgery on my lumbar spine due to stenosis, degenerative disc disease and neurogenic claudication. I still have some hip flexor pain and difficulty walking and lifting leg, especially on the right. You may want to get MRIs of your lumbar spine and hips by an orthopedic spine and hip specialist.

Good luck getting help with this pain that is impacting your daily functioning.

P.S. They may offer injections where the source of pain is to see if they help with inflammation before doing anything more intensive. You may benefit from using Salonpas lidocaine nerve pain patches. Placed them on your lower back and pull them to the side that is hurting the most. This has helped me relieve nerve pain temporarily.
