It doesn’t seem to be too unusual to require a CBC. The CBC however doesn’t check for A1C, increases in triglycerides, or increase in LDL. The last two are done in a lipid panel and the A1c is done separately as well in a hemoglobin A1c test

The CBC will tell him about your blood, white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets, hemoglobin and hematocrit.

That could give him an idea if you have a problem with healing.

Sorry, I was using inaccurate terminology. My GP had a complete blood panel done, including tests for A1C and the lipid panel. I just wish my RO had requested a complete set of blood tests prior to start of my treatment so that I would have had a baseline for all of the tests prior to undergoing treatment.
