Have seen Lung doctor yet? I was diagnosed with LPR by ENT. Nothing helped that prescribed by GI. I went to a Lung doctor. She saw mucus in lung and prescribed meds. I am coughing for over a year now.

Yes saw PA @ Mayo Pulmonary clinic , went thru Pulmonary test. Was even having symptoms the day of the test & results were better than when I had the test for asthma several yrs ago. She prescribed double acting inhaler. Now that I am treating myself for LP R, I am doing much better. There's hope!

To share- initially saw Allergist, ENT, went thru Pulmonary clinic over the course of last year. Prescribed antiallergy/ asthma meds & inhaler , did nasal lavage 2 x a day for last yr & 1/2. Had tried most all OTC antihistamines/ decongestants. Time seemed to be the main component to decreasing cough episodes & intensity while trying all of those.
Bcuz the forced coughing to bring up & expel mucous MAY have irritated my airway & now my symptoms are consistent w LPR reflux, that is how I am treating myself. I found out that taking a probiotic along with generic Prilosec can enhance the effects to reduce acids which may be causing the post meal coughing & phlegm production. So far it seems to be working for me.
