Just wanted to share a bit of good news! I had reconstructive surgery a week ago. My original BCS was done 2 years ago. 1 year ago they were following a Birads 3 lymph node and possible new lesion. Those were downgraded to a 2 six months ago. This latest surgery was to reduce the size of the breast to better match the other. The plastic surgeon took tissue from 3 different areas. The lower inner & outer areas were to reduce the size. But while he was in there he took out some tissue that was at the original site of the DCIS where scar had formed. After surgery he told me he thought it would be okay, but sent it to pathology. Today’s pathology report showed no cancer.
I know this was a low stress situation, but just waiting on pathology is nerve wracking. So 2 years out, on tamoxifen, and nothing new. I love those words, “nothing new”! Carrot cake to celebrate tonight!
