Starting week 4 today… I can say it’s been without obvious issues to date but skin is starting to react. I m not at all happy about radiating my body! It worries me. I had a local recurrence near the site of original tumor., in a mastectomy “breast” . In the space between the skin and implant necessitating a lumpectomy on a mastectomy!

The recurrence was small and downgraded from original but 3 rad oncology and 2 medical oncologists opined that radiation was now necessary.

Also a change from Anastrozole to exemestane. Verzenio ( early BC dose) has been discussed. Ugh

They told me that side effects usually happens during week 3 or 4. Continue apply cream to protect your skin to at least 2 weeks after. You’re doing as well as could be. It’s almost over. Does radiation affect your implant? I’m worried about long term effects of radiation, but the thought of cancer metastasis scares me more. I hope exemestane works better for you. I’m taking exemestane and have issues with joint pains and skin rashes which my onco doesn’t think skin problem is related to med, just because it hasn’t been reported as a side effect? Take one day at a time and continue doing things you enjoy. Wishing you all the best. Thanksgiving is coming soon!
