I’m new to neubulizing too. I noticed some of you talked about sterilizing. I haven’t been doing that. Should I?

People take pretty different approaches to this. Some boil their neb cups after every use for 10 minutes since that’s the length of time it takes to kill mycobacteria. Others use baby sterilizers or bags. Sue recently referred to a study by Dr Falkinham (?sp), a prominent researcher, that showed mycobacteria didn’t grow on thd Pari neb cups or Aerobika even with worst case scenarios.

I use and clean mine daily by pouring water that was recently boiled over it, adding Dawn, and letting it soak then rinse with more very hot water. To disinfect it, I put it in microwave bags used for baby battles, using their directions, a couple times/week. I had been using the bags daily and boiling a couple times/week, but thought I could ease up after that research. Hopefully others will add their methods.

We don’t include the tubing-just leave the air from the compressor on for 2-3 minutes to make sure it’s dry.
