The good news is you are looking to change your situation. The other good news, actually great news, is that you are so young and have many years to have a great life with countless wonderful moments. Use your valuable time to make the change; go out and join a group or volunteer or just "be around". There's plenty of people "out there' that will listen, won't judge and the best part will tell you what they think. Then think for yourself.
When I was at the university I was in a bad shape, mental and physically. I had no choice though; I wasn't going to make it (I can't even believe I'm saying that!) So I focused on my studies and at the same time got to know some students who were kind of similar to me. I excelled at my studies so much that I won a highly sought after award. That led to me studying at prestigious international university which led to me meeting other students were were even more similar to me. and became life-long friends. I also took up walking and have walked briskly for an hour a day on most days. That alone added so much to the quality of my life. In fact everything, eating, sleeping, working, etc.. is balanced by the walks. Plus I'm in great aerobic shape with perfect vitals. I also look far below my age.
Then I created a dream career, then travelled the world at whim! The absolute joy I have experienced was something I never thought possible. You and everyone can find it, too, If you search for it. And searching can be fun! It can also be very difficult as well, The old saying "don't quit" is one of the best I have ever heard.
Right now I am dealing with a very difficult family health issue and moved to be closer to family. I moved this city that is "rougher" than what I am used to and there is real crime here. In fact I have been threatened a number of times by people who live in the building where I currently live. I's a nice place in a good part of town. It seems that people here have a tolerance for this kind of behavior. It's made me feel anxious and depressed to a degree. I have been working to resolve this and it's been very difficult, and I admit scary, but it appears now that this problem is literally on the way out.
Taking the right, just steps and never relenting is the "secret" to solving issues. In my long experience things do get better when you approach problems in this way. In fact they can get so much better than you could ever imagine.
Thank you Robert for your kind words. I'll definitely inculcate the points you mentioned in my life. I am on the right track and I ain't giving up.
