I had a full hip replacement Aug 15th 2024 I’m 43, I have had had four dislocations and it’s only Nov 5th the original surgeon wants to add a liner but something doesn’t seem right has anyone else had any experience with this?

@cbaack OH, how awful for you! One dislocation was enough for me. As I understand from my surgeon, this can happen for a number of reasons. Too short a femur stem, too small a ball, too large a cup, poor insertion angle and slack or damaged muscles.

If this was my hip, I would bo looking for a specialist in complex revisions, who would do an MRI or CT to examine everything before proceeding.

Sometimes you need to be a strong advocate for yourself.
