Yes, I am with my other sister and her daughter. But her daughter is very young, so, We are her supportive system. Her husband has prostate cancer and he is also receiving treatments. She just received the new treatments, last Saturday, So it’s only 3 days. She is feeling ok, but my fear is that she felt ok the last time she was on the Strong dosages of Carboplatin and than 5 days later, she couldn’t eat , drink , very weak, couldn’t walk , slept all day, lost a lot of weight . Since her new diagnosis she has lost 53 pounds since June 19, 2024. I just pray she can withstand these treatments. Now that the cancer has Mets to the liver and spots on the stomach and liver , I am very nervous. The doctor made the statement, get you life in order and get the paper work filled out ASAP… I was just shocked how serious thing progress so quickly. Thank you so much for responding. Charole’vista 🙏🏽🙌🏽💪🏽🥰❤️

@charolevista, I add my welcome. I moved your post to the Gynecologic Cancer support group (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/gynecologic-cancer/) where you can meet others who know first hand about getting the news of ovarian cancer metastacizing to the liver and elsewhere -- members like @corday7578 @mommacandy @leannn @kathrynevans22 @pauldale4 who can journey along side you and your sister.

It sounds like things are moving quickly. It must be so overwhelming, especially with her husband also in treatment for prostate cancer. Thank goodness she has you for support. Now it is our turn to be a support for you. We're here to listen to your concerns and perhaps offer experiences to help you prepare for what to expect, and to reframe hope.

I'm sure you have loads of questions, so fire away. I'll start with a couple of questions myself. Does your sister have a palliative care doctor or nurse as part of her team? They can help with managing symptoms of treatment. How is she managing emotionally? Has she or the family spoken with an oncology social worker?
