Prostate cancer in the brain???
I have 3+3 in 1/4 of one core and 3+4 in less of 10% of one core. My Polaris came back with little chance of spreading. But Monday I started getting really sick and my one arm was numb I went to the emergency room and because I had stroke symptoms they did a brain scan.( turns out I had Covid). They kept me overnight in the hospital. The next morning the 2 doctors that read the scan came into my room and introduced themselves. They told me I had a spot that could possibly be related to my prostate cancer they said I should see my oncologist and get a pet scan right away! I have never read anything about Prostate cancer going to the brain! Does anyone have any information about this? I am waiting for my Primary care doc's office to call me back today about a referral for a pet scan thanks

here is a follow up I got a copy of the MRI they were looking at a 0.5 nodule concerning for possible enhancing metastasis. I got a pet scan scheduled for the 11, I contacted my oncologist and he set up an appointment for the 14. The good news he does not think that is secondary to my prostate cancer. The bad news he set me up with a Neurosurgeon and the Neurosurgeon wants to see me even before my pet scan. So I am going in to see him on the 6th, and hopefully he will give me some idea of what is going on
It is definitely good news that your oncologist doesn't think the spot is related to your prostate cancer, and I don't think the appointment with the neurosurgeon is bad news at all--he or she is a person with expertise in brain lesions. It will be good for you to have that doctor's evaluation of your MRI and his or her opinion soon, followed quickly by the PET scan, which will be valuable to both your oncologist and neurologist. You are making real progress getting to the bottom of what showed up on your brain.
