What shoes and/or insoles work for you? How about OOFOS?

I believe I have Plantar Fasciitis on top of the PN. Have tried SO many different shoes. Skechers (good cushioning, poor arch support), Brooks (for my narrow feet, but arch support not great) OrthoFeet, and several others. Also Upstep custom arch supports. (They have a 180 day guarantee -- I ended up using it because they just couldn't get it right for me.) The closest I have come to something that is bearable are Saucony Guide 17 shoes. I can tolerate these, but they still aren't quite there. Now, I'm seeing an ad for OOFOS in my FB feed, and wonder about them. Cushioning is what I need, along with support for the sides of my feet.

I use Naot shoe inserts on top of the original shoe inserts instead of a replacement for. The best thing to do is to go to a Naot store, try a pair and see how they feel. They may be the best thing ever or an ugh for you.

They cost about $50, a lot less than their $200 shoe and can be moved from one pair to another.

It really depends, doesn't it? On each individuals unique set of circumstances. My fam/friends also love them, BUT my podiatrist AND my ortho surgeon said NOT to use these as it would further complicate my conditions. There's that....

Yes, indeed.

Great idea! I just googled and it turns out there is a place that sells these about 3 miles away!

Unfortunately, I can't go barefoot. It is like walking on rocks for me.

My husband was told he should get carbon fiber insoles by his podiatrist. He found out he has neuropathy recently but also has PAD. After a recent angioplasty (3 balloons) on his right leg, his sensation on the bottom of his foot has changed some. We're praying after the other leg is done, he might see improvements there as well. He just had an electromyogram today and found there is nerve damage in his arms and legs so we will wait to see what the recommendations are from his team. These shoes sound promising. I was checking them out. Thanks for all the great advice!
Just getting started on this journey, all your stories help. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! G&D

Surprising shoe recommendation from podiatrist.

My wife has been a diabetic 62 years with foot pain for the last 20. She wears custom shoe inserts and they have been great for her. Expensive but often covered by insurance.

She recently went to an older, semi-retired podiatrist who now does only custom implants and will be making a new pair for her. She was wearing a pair of New Balance shoes because that pair was less painful. The podiatrist saw her shoes and said New Balance makes the best shoe for foot pain without our asking.

New Balance, never thought an inexpensive show was an option.

I have neuropathy and wear slippers around the house, not the best but less painful. My foot pain can be almost unbearable at times, especially walking downhill and my toes touch the front of my shoes. I've had nights when I wear 2 pair of heavy socks because the sheets hurt when the touch my feet.

I'm buying a pair of New Balance shoes and will let you know how they work.

I have found OOFOS, New Balance and Skechers Go Walk to be the best so far. I’m on the hunt for a good slipper (not mule).

My wife uses New Balance, I use Sketchers, we both use Naot inserts on top of the original shoe inserts. My wife is having her podiatrist make custom inserts. I used Reebok walking shoes years ago, thinking of trying those again.

Please let me know if you find slippers that work, I had a great pair of slippers, wore them 3 years until they fell apart. Unfortunately, the name wore off long before the slippers gave out, now I have no idea what the brand was.

Living with foot pain from PN is a real pain in the butt.

Barefoot Shoes - try them! They are not expensive & you get them on Amazon. They work because you strengthen your calves & ankles giving you better balance.

Shoes: My neurologist suggested Hoka running shoes. My bare feet are so sensitive I cannot walk barefoot on any solid flooring without nearly falling down with extreme pain. Hokas are the only shoe I can wear without pain and they must have inserts and foam pads!! Amazon has good inserts. Go to a good runners shoe store and take inserts and foam with you........they take up extra space. Then .....Get use to folks doing a double take when you dress up and go out and they see you in a tux or fancy dress wearing running shoes!!
Hokas are expensive-----I googled and found some online for half price------- It was scam. Lost $75.
Good luck--hope this helps you.
