Hi Leigh,
It sounds to me like you are doing really well. Based on my own experience (I've had both hips replaced, one 6 years ago, the other 6 weeks ago), the pain should be pretty much gone over the next few weeks. I have just a little bit of stiffness in the muscles around the new hip. Good luck!

Thank you. I just don't know what to expect and I'm beginning to get concerned that I'm having surgery on the left hip too soon, although it is also bone-on bone. I guess I need to see how week 4 recovery goes. Also, I'm not the most patient person either ....

@leigh60 If you have any hesitations about your second surgery, please express those concerns to your surgeon. It is important that you feel comfortable with the timetable. Perhaps after your pain subsides a bit more you can feel more prepared and comfortable about your next surgery. Remember that it is important to be your own patient advocate and, to some degree, follow your feelings as well as the advice of your medical team. Best wishes as you make this decision.
