What shoes and/or insoles work for you? How about OOFOS?

I believe I have Plantar Fasciitis on top of the PN. Have tried SO many different shoes. Skechers (good cushioning, poor arch support), Brooks (for my narrow feet, but arch support not great) OrthoFeet, and several others. Also Upstep custom arch supports. (They have a 180 day guarantee -- I ended up using it because they just couldn't get it right for me.) The closest I have come to something that is bearable are Saucony Guide 17 shoes. I can tolerate these, but they still aren't quite there. Now, I'm seeing an ad for OOFOS in my FB feed, and wonder about them. Cushioning is what I need, along with support for the sides of my feet.

UPDATE to my original post:
The OOFOS came yesterday from Amazon. (They had 2 day shipment, and I'm desperately trying to find something for a trip in less than 2 weeks.) WOW, is all I can say. I think these might really be the answer for me.

IMPORTANT: In reviews, everyone said they run small. Some said order a size and a half up, while others recommended just a half size. I ordered a Size 9 (I'm normally an 8.5) and they were way too small. I've reordered in a Size 10.

Amazon has a limited selection of OOFOS that tie up, but fast delivery. The OOFOS site has a wide selection, but shipping times are LONG.

Surprising shoe recommendation from podiatrist.

My wife has been a diabetic 62 years with foot pain for the last 20. She wears custom shoe inserts and they have been great for her. Expensive but often covered by insurance.

She recently went to an older, semi-retired podiatrist who now does only custom implants and will be making a new pair for her. She was wearing a pair of New Balance shoes because that pair was less painful. The podiatrist saw her shoes and said New Balance makes the best shoe for foot pain without our asking.

New Balance, never thought an inexpensive show was an option.

I have neuropathy and wear slippers around the house, not the best but less painful. My foot pain can be almost unbearable at times, especially walking downhill and my toes touch the front of my shoes. I've had nights when I wear 2 pair of heavy socks because the sheets hurt when the touch my feet.

I'm buying a pair of New Balance shoes and will let you know how they work.

Thank you for sharing. I have extreme pain in my feet also, and have been researching shoes. I’ll try too.

I have bunions and neuropathy. I wear Sorel boots and Dr. Martin boots, whenever I can get away with it. In the summer I wear Teva sandals. Brooks tennis shoes are better than many I have tried but my bunions break through the sides quickly. Right now I am not buying new shoes because I have not found any that fit right for me.

I use Naot inserts, they seem to help. My podiatrist gave me a different brand that did little to help.

Have you tried the Naot shoes? And if so, do they have substantial arch support?

@persistentc

No, I haven't. Sorry.

I like their shoe selection. They are more expensive than Vionic, but for a good shoe……

Good evening, SHOES......I have been looking for comfortable shoes since I was in high school. It was then that I had to find shoes that looked good for marching in the band. Then I was the Drum Major and had a terrible time getting the right size, shape, and color. It didn't help to break my left ankle while camping in the summer. That never quite healed correctly and so I had another surgical repair in my Junior year at College.

Finally, I found shoes that feel like they are custom-made. Mephisto! They are expensive but fit as if they were created just for me. And....they last for years. I celebrated getting my foot neuropathy under control with a pair of oxfords called "Plum". And they have zippers up the side so I don't have to tie the shoelaces.

Let me know if you find some you like.
Chris
