Exactly. I had hernia surgery in Jan. Family thought I was having stroke so took me to ER. I had two blood clots in my lungs. Then they put me on Heparin for 3 days and then Eliquis. My surgeon was not notified. I started hemorrhaging in my stomach at the surgery site. My Hemoglobin got down to 4. They finally did a scan and figured it out. After, my family kept begging them. So ended up having 5 pints of blood. Several other things done. However, they want me to go on ELIQUIS for 3 -6 months then come off. WTheck is wrong with them. Everything I have read says when you come off you are more likely to get a blood clot or have a stroke.
So, I chose to do an Aspirin instead. I do have a IVC filter they are planning on removing in the next few weeks. I am just not a fan of the blood thinners after reading the information.
