I also have severe ostoarthritis of my femur bone, painful when the leg is in certain positions. The bone has erroded. Further, I cannot bear my weight on it, walking has become limping, and I must use of a rolator and electric wheel chair. I can tolerate some over-the-counter pain relief, but use it moderately. I use various rubbing medicne. I joined Connect because maybe I could learn more about my bone problem and find help in relieving my pains.
I fear statin use is causing musculoskeletal disorder. self diagnosed. I have severe hip arthritis diagnosed bt primary care dr and osteopathic dr. more than anything else I feel as though I am not caring for myself and I am afraid of losing friends over poor health. I am 76 y o on a walker and facing cortisone shots.
I am sorry for your disability and stress. But you didn't mention "what" issue you were additionally diagnosed with. There are many! So we have to know where to start with ideas to effectively help! hugs.
Thank you for your reply. Everything was just fine with me 6 months ago. I lost 20 pounds in a very short time. I was skinny before. I thought this happened because I recently found out that I have a severe osteoporosis and have a few spinal fractures and I thought that osteoporosis medication contributed a lot of pain as a side effect . I was very active before and I am in mid sixties. I been going to various doctors and nobody can explain why I suddenly got this debilitating pain all over my back. I am still able to walk but becoming harder and harder. Finally doctor who I been seeing for the last 3 months started taking about some muscle skeletal disorder. Without offering any solutions. I am going to seek a second opinion.
I won't take statins again.
severe hip osteoarthritis
former dr lost my bioidentical hormone replacement compound. I attribute my arthritis to my former drs, refusal to accept my request for supplements.
I am asking to be referred to specialist for hormone replacement therapy.
I have been diagnosed by Orthro dr and primary care dr, and I am 98 yrs old. Keep in mind that wishing bad health will suddenly disappear will not happen. I have every devise I can find to help me with my daily living, walkers, rollator, electric wheel chair, grabbers, putting on my sock assister. A medicine cabinet filled with an assortment of pain relievers.
If you are losing friends due to your health, then are are not friends; find new fiends. Finally, drs. can not be you 24/7. and shots can help.
Before I get out of bed, massage topical cream on all joints, to warm, wakeup, and soothe ... menthol and lidocaine products.
