Surprising shoe recommendation from podiatrist.
My wife has been a diabetic 62 years with foot pain for the last 20. She wears custom shoe inserts and they have been great for her. Expensive but often covered by insurance.
She recently went to an older, semi-retired podiatrist who now does only custom implants and will be making a new pair for her. She was wearing a pair of New Balance shoes because that pair was less painful. The podiatrist saw her shoes and said New Balance makes the best shoe for foot pain without our asking.
New Balance, never thought an inexpensive show was an option.
I have neuropathy and wear slippers around the house, not the best but less painful. My foot pain can be almost unbearable at times, especially walking downhill and my toes touch the front of my shoes. I've had nights when I wear 2 pair of heavy socks because the sheets hurt when the touch my feet.
I'm buying a pair of New Balance shoes and will let you know how they work.
I have found OOFOS, New Balance and Skechers Go Walk to be the best so far. I’m on the hunt for a good slipper (not mule).
